Micah Giovanni

Micah Giovanni is a 21 year old Indie Rock singer/songwriter & actor. A fresh face who is part of the LGBTQ+ community, he identifies as gender non-conforming, and is comfortable with any pronouns. Born in the beautiful paradise of Maui, Hawaii, he has had the benefit of being raised in an island community, as well as living his teenage years in the big city of Los Angeles. Teetering between these two extremes, he has been able to find his own unique voice, using the contrast as inspiration.

He writes of personal, yet universal themes, combined with a lyrical depth & a creative vision rarely seen in someone so young. Immersed in music daily, from writing, recording, to producing everything on his own from his bedroom studio. His style is heavily influenced by 90s alternative rock, inspired by artists such as Radiohead, Elliott Smith, Smashing Pumpkins, Fiona Apple, & Lorde (to name a few). He says he appreciates true artistry & courageous experimentation.

In late 2015, he & his family moved from their little island home to the big city of Los Angeles, where he was fortunate to find a wonderful music school named “Paramount Academy of Music” (also known as PAM) in Studio City. In his own words , it was "truly a life changing experience” for him. They gave him incredible opportunities to study & perform music (including on-stage) with several iconic bands, such as Tom Morello from “Rage Against the Machine” & “America, The Band”. While attending PAM, He learned to play multiple instruments & started songwriting/production classes. Over the next few years he wrote & performed his original songs at different venues around LA, beginning to develop his own sound. Sadly, PAM closed its doors during the Covid Pandemic, but Micah continued his progression, constantly working to grow as a songwriter, performer and producer.  

In the summer of 2018, Micah released his first single, “Devoid.” An upbeat tune that sounds like summer sun. One that'll have you driving up the coast with the top down or dancing around your teenage bedroom. Written and recorded at just 16 years old, he found his affinity for production during the recording process at PAM. It’s catchy, yet honest, and has a sweet innocence to it.  

At the end of 2021 Micah returned with a unique, mature sound, releasing two new singles just a month apart from each other. In November, he launched his second single, "Locust Flower". A brooding and desolate project on experimentation, this was the first song he produced completely on his own. Only a month later, he had written, recorded, & released his third & latest single, “The Ghost” – an intimate diary of a raw & personal experience. Starting off slow & almost mysterious, it builds in emotion til it completely transforms into a rhythmic and euphoric explosion. He sets the soundscape, incorporating buzzing crickets in nature & the ocean waves from his island home. The smooth musicianship is joined by a strong, yet vulnerable voice, singing of affection, betrayal, and growth. His melodic hooks cant help but become engrained in your brain.

Micah’s passion for music is just as relevant as his passion for acting. He has been featured on TV shows such as Showtime’s “Black Monday” & Nickelodeon’s "Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, & Dawn." He also appeared in a Netflix film called "Grand Daddy Day Care." And most recently,  he  played a small role, as John Travolta’s son, Ern, in a  feature film called "Paradise City", Starring John Travolta & Bruce Willis, this movie was filmed on Micah’s island home of Maui in 2021. It was truly incredible for him to be able to return home & film where he was born. He says it was an experience he will never forget. 

“Paradise City” is out now & available in select theaters, as well as online streaming services. Micah has more on the horizon with a new feature film that will debut this year! He is also consistently working on producing his unique sound & new music. Most recently, he has been playing live at local venues around LA like the Whisky-a-GoGo, Kulak's Woodshed, and  backyard shows around LA.
